Xbox Game Pass is now free if you already pay for Discord Nitro
Discord Nitro subscribers woke up to a surprise this week: Xbox Game Pass is now bundled into their membership, and the $9.99/month price hasn't budged. The new addition is called the Xbox Game Pass Starter Edition, and it lands as part of Nitro Rewards—Discord's freshly launched perks program marking the platform's 10th anniversary. The library covers 50-plus PC and console games: think Fallout 4, Stardew Valley, Deep Rock Galactic, Grounded, and DayZ. There's also 10 hours of Xbox Cloud Gaming per month, which means you can stream before you even finish downloading. It's not the full Game Pass experience—the Essential tier offers unlimited cloud gaming, while this caps you at 10 hours. But for someone who wasn't paying for Game Pass separately, it's a real addition, not just a coupon.

Xbox Game Pass subscribers won't be left out either

The deal cuts both ways. Later this month, existing Xbox Game Pass subscribers will start receiving Discord perks: 250 Orbs monthly, a 1.2x multiplier on Quest earnings, and automatic discounts in the Discord Shop. Neither company is just doing the other a favor here.Nitro Rewards also bundles hardware discounts—30% off Logitech G, 15% off SteelSeries, 20% off KontrolFreek—with more brand partnerships reportedly in the pipeline.
A few things to know before getting excited: Nitro Basic and Nitro Classic members don't qualify. The rollout is gradual over the coming weeks, so not everyone sees it immediately. And the starter edition is currently available in 27 countries, including the US, UK, India, Canada, Japan, and most of Western Europe. To claim it, open Discord, go to the Nitro Home tab, find the Xbox Game Pass card, and link your Microsoft account. Takes about a minute.
