New 5-star hotel to come up near Sagar Nagar in Vizag
Visakhapatnam: Tourism minister Kandula Durgesh performed the groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of a five-star hotel in Visakhapatnam on Saturday. The hotel will be built near Sagar Nagar with an investment of Rs 250 crore across three acres. It will be completed in the next two years. The minister said the project is a result of the memoranda of understanding signed during the CII Partnership Summit 2025, conducted in Visakhapatnam under the leadership of chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu, which are now being implemented. "As Visakhapatnam evolves into a global city, the new hotel will strengthen the tourism sector. The Hyatt hotel by the PVR Group will offer world-class luxury amenities and stand alongside leading hospitality brands such as Radisson Blu and other top-tier hotels in the city. The facility will include advanced conference halls designed to host national and international corporate meetings, conventions, and events," said Durgesh. With the number of domestic and international tourists to Visakhapatnam on the rise, the hotel is expected to provide fine dining experiences featuring both local and global cuisines. The project will also generate substantial direct and indirect employment opportunities for local youth, while contributing to the transformation of Vizag city. Local MLA Ganta Srinivasa Rao also spoke on the occasion. Visakhapatnam collector Harendhira Prasad, Hyatt Hotel chairman RV Swamy, and Varun Group chairman Prabhu Kishore were also present.
