Malayalam film actress molested in Kochi; 1 held

KOCHI: A man has been arrested for allegedly molesting a popular Malayalam film actress at Kaloor, police said on Saturday. The accused has been identified as Vibin Roy, a native of Kathrikadavu. According to police, the incident took place on Thursday evening when the actress was walking towards a shop on Stadium Link Road in Kaloor. Police said Roy allegedly followed the actress and molested her before fleeing the spot, according to news agency PTI. The actress later approached the police with a complaint, and a case was registered at the Palarivattom police station. Police added that Roy had been repeatedly sending messages to the actress on a social media platform, which she had blocked.

“Agitated over this, he allegedly followed the actress and misbehaved with her,” the police said. Following an investigation, police identified the accused and arrested him on Friday night. He will be produced before a court soon as part of remand proceedings.
