Bihar youth found dead near rly track in Gorakhpur
Gorakhpur: The body of a youth from Bihar was found near a railway track close to Garhwa railway crossing here on Monday morning.The deceased was identified as Ranjan Rai (24), a resident of Harishankarpur Hasim Chak in Dalsinghsarai area of Samastipur district.According to police, Ranjan was travelling from Samastipur to Ludhiana for some work, and he might have died after falling from the moving train. A gateman spotted the body around 7am and raised an alarm. After receiving information, Pipraich police reached the spot and launched efforts to establish his identity. Police also recovered an Aadhaar card, a mobile phone and a train ticket from the spot.Police said the mobile phone was damaged. After inserting the SIM card into another handset, officers received a call from his mother, who helped confirm his identity.SP North Gyanendra said severe injuries were found on the youth’s head and chest. “Prima facie, it appears to be a case of falling from train. The exact cause of death will be clear after the postmortem report,” he said.
