M K Stalin received a rousing reception from party members upon his arrival at the Trichy airport on Sunday, marking his first visit to the district after the party's defeat in the recent assembly elections.
Stalin came from Chennai along with leader of the opposition
Udhayanidhi Stalin to take part in various events in Thanjavur district on Monday. As Stalin exited the airport, a large number of party workers raised slogans in support of him. Senior party leaders including former ministers K N Nehru, Anbil Mahesh Poyyamozhi and Siva V Meyyanathan, MP A Raja, and Arun Nehru were among those present at the reception.
Subsequently, Stalin and Udhayanidhi left for Thanjavur by road.
