Rims to get more beds, new OPD, IPD building: Health minister
Ranchi: The 64th Governing Body meeting of the Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences (Rims) was held on Tuesday to deliberate on major developmental initiatives aimed at strengthening healthcare services at the premier medical institution. The meeting was chaired by health minister Irfan Ansari.Proposals related to the construction of new OPD and IPD buildings were discussed in detail. Ansari said, “The proposed expansion would significantly improve patient care and streamline treatment processes at Rims.” He added, “RIMS is currently facing excessive patient load, and keeping this in view, a decision has been taken to increase the number of beds. The newly constructed buildings would also be made operational at the earliest to ease pressure on existing facilities.

He said several agendas related to patient welfare were discussed during the meeting. However, due to the enforcement of the model code of conduct in view of the municipal elections, the decisions related to their implementation will be done later.
