US Lawmaker Rich McCormick Hails Trade Deal, Says India, US Key To Global Peace, Economic Stability

US Congressman Rich McCormick has strongly endorsed deeper India-US cooperation, describing the partnership as essential for shaping global peace and economic prosperity in the aftermath of the recently announced bilateral trade deal. Speaking after Washington reduced tariffs on Indian goods, McCormick highlighted the growing strategic bond between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Donald Trump, emphasising India’s rising economic influence and demographic strength. He noted that collaboration between the two democracies could stabilise global conflicts, boost defence industrial ties, and strengthen supply chains. While acknowledging recent tensions over immigration and energy imports, McCormick suggested that evolving cooperation in energy trade could enhance global stability. He also highlighted India’s growing defence manufacturing capability and expressed optimism about deeper collaboration between defence industries. The comments underline Washington’s expanding strategic focus on India as a major partner in maintaining Indo-Pacific security, balancing geopolitical rivalries, and building resilient global economic networks.
