PPU appoints principal in charges in 16 new colleges
Patna: Patliputra University (PPU) has appointed principal-in-charges at 16 newly established Rajkiya degree colleges across various blocks in Patna and Nalanda districts, in line with directives from the state higher education department.PPU registrar Abu Bakar said preparations have begun to start academic activities in these colleges from the 2026–27 sessions. The admission process will be completed soon to ensure timely commencement of classes. The appointed principal-in-charges have been directed to make necessary arrangements for smooth academic and administrative functioning at their respective institutions.The colleges are located in Sampatchak, Daniyawan, Khusrupur, Athmalgola, Belchi, Ghoshwari and Maner in Patna district, and Rahui, Noorsarai, Bind, Nagarnausa, Katrisarai, Tharthari, Karai Parsurai, Parwalpur and Sarmera in Nalanda district. The initiative aims to strengthen access to higher education in rural and semi-urban areas.The new colleges are expected to benefit students who currently travel long distances for undergraduate studies. The university will also send representatives to facilitate the appointment and coordination of teaching and non-teaching staff, PPU vice-chancellor Upendra Prasad Singh said.“Efforts are being made to operationalise all the colleges within the stipulated timeframe so that students can begin enrolment without delay,” the VC added.
