Maha govt will launch Marathi learning app soon: Samant
Nashik: Nashik: Marathi language minister Uday Samant announced on Thursday that the state govt would launch a dedicated cellphone application, aimed at helping migrants from other states learn Marathi, in the next two months.Samant made the announcement while speaking to reporters during his visit to Ahilyanagar on Thursday. He said the new application would enable users to learn Marathi free of cost through user-friendly modules."I believe those living in Maharashtra should know and speak Marathi. This is not a compulsion, but when Marathi is the mother tongue and widely spoken, non-Marathi speakers should also make an effort to learn it," Samant said, adding that it would help migrants integrate better into local communities.Speaking about industrial development in the region, Samant said the Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC) was in the process of developing a new industrial estate in Sangamner taluka. It is expected to be ready within the next two to three months. He said the move would help attract investments and boost local employment. He said some new MIDC areas had been proposed in Newasa and Shrigonda talukas of Ahilyanagar district to accelerate industrial growth in the region.
Samant said that his visit to Ahilyanagar was also aimed at strengthening the party organisation. He said he recently reviewed the party's functioning in Nashik, and held interactions with workers and office-bearers in Ahilyanagar as part of his responsibilities as the Sampark Mantri for both the districts.
