Air Marshal Awadhesh Kumar Bharti said India is continuously monitoring the security environment and upgrading its defence capabilities to stay ahead of Pakistan and China, noting ongoing procurement of S-400 systems and development of indigenous projects like Kusha and the planned Sudarshan Chakra system. He said India had struck and destroyed nine terror camps and multiple Pakistani airfields during Operation Sindoor, including damaging several aircraft and a high-value airborne asset. He added that Pakistan failed to cause significant damage to Indian military or civilian infrastructure. Bharti clarified that the operation targeted terror infrastructure, achieving objectives before India agreed to pause hostilities after Pakistan sought cessation. He said India’s response was decisive, sending a clear message that terrorism will have consequences.
