Man gets 20 years RI for sodomising 6-yr-old boy

Nagpur: The district and sessions court sentenced Yogesh Rewatkar (22), resident of Narkhed, to 20 years' rigorous imprisonment (RI) under Section 4 (2) of the Pocso Act and a fine of Rs10,000. In default of payment of fine, Rewatkar will undergo an additional six months' imprisonment.The incident occurred on July 30, 2023, when the accused lured the complainant's 6-year-old son to the upper floor of his house, where he committed unnatural sex with him. A case was registered at Narkhed police station under Section 377 IPC and POCSO provisions.Police sub-inspector Sarika Gurukar conducted a thorough investigation and filed a strong chargesheet.
