No local opposition to Koragajja Circle at Kuthar: Speaker Khader
Mangaluru: Assembly speaker UT Khader Saturday said there was no opposition from local residents to the proposed development of a circle named after Koragajja at Kuthar, dismissing concerns raised on social media.Responding to queries over the controversy surrounding the naming of the circle, Khader said the opposition came only from "one or two individuals from outside" and not from residents of the locality."People post many things on social media, which I cannot comment on. Residents of Kuthar, Madani Nagara and Subhash Nagara have not expressed opposition. People in these areas have been living in harmony and unity for years. We must think positively," he said.Khader said the proposed circle development work would continue as planned and would be inaugurated in the coming days."There is no need to worry about those trying to mislead people. Instead, we should bring them onto the right track," he added. The speaker also directed the public works department (PWD) and other agencies to ensure that potholes on roads across the constituency are repaired before the onset of the monsoon. Potholes on all major roads, including PWD roads, zilla panchayat roads and highways, must be filled without delay to prevent traffic disruptions and accidents during the rainy season. He said the deputy commissioner has been instructed to closely monitor the issue and coordinate with concerned departments to ensure timely repairs.Urging officials to act proactively, Khader encouraged the public to report large potholes by sending photographs through WhatsApp to the DC, the district minister and himself so that immediate action can be taken.
