Man held for burgling fellow Rajasthani’s house in Udupi district

Udupi: Byndoor police have arrested a 23-year-old man from Rajasthan and recovered Rs 6 lakh in stolen cash in connection with a house burglary case.The accused, identified as Mahendra Sain from Jodhpur, was arrested following a special operation carried out by a police team, officials said.According to police, the theft occurred between 3pm and 10pm on April 23 at a rented house behind SBI Bank in Yadtare village of Byndoor. The house belonged to Rawal Singh, a native of Rajasthan. Taking advantage of the occupants' absence, the accused allegedly broke open the front door lock, entered the house and stole Rs 6 lakh in cash kept in a cupboard.Based on the complaint, Byndoor police registered a case under sections 331(3), 331(4) and 305 of the BNS.The investigation was led by Byndoor CI Shivakumar B Police said the accused was staying in a rented house behind a garment shop in Byndoor.A special team comprising PSI Sunil Kumar BY, Naveen Borakar and other personnel traced and arrested the accused on Thursday and recovered the entire stolen cash from his possession.
