LUDHIANA: The court of sessions judge Gurbir Singh on Friday granted permission to chief minister
Captain Amarinder Singh, who was accused in City Centre case, to his proposed visit to the United Kingdom.
In 2007, the vigilance bureau had filed a case against 36 accused, including Captain
Amarinder Singh, his son Raninder and son-in-law Raminder for allegedly favouring a Delhi-based firm for the City Centre project.
During the hearing Counsel for Captain Amarinder moved an application before the court seeking permission for a visit to the UK from November 14 to 28.
The court allowed the application and granted permission.
The court adjourned the case to November 23.
During the last hearing of the case, the court had heard argument on the plea of S K Dey, who claimed to be an architect of the project.
Gurpreet Singh Virk, counsel for Suneel Kumar Dey, said that they have pleaded before the court that he be heard in the case as he was directly related with the project and had appeared as witness in the case.
He added that the court is expected to issue order on their plea in the next hearing of the case.
