The perpetrators, after tying up and stabbing Renu Agarwal, stole gold jewelry and cash. They fled the scene on a two-wheeler, prompting a police manhunt to apprehend them, with suspicion pointing towards Ranchi as a possible escape destination.

HYDERABAD: A 50-year-old woman was tied up and stabbed to death by two domestic helps at an apartment complex in Kukatpally Wednesday evening. The duo, after stealing the gold and cash from the flat, fled on a two-wheeler belonging to one of their employer.The deceased was identified as Renu Agarwal, wife of Rakesh Agarwal, a city-based steel businessman.Police said, on Wednesday morning, Rakesh and his son left for their establishment, leaving Renu alone in their flat at the Swan Lake condominium near Kukatpally Y Junction. About 10 days ago, the family had hired a domestic help, Harsha, a native of Ranchi, through a manpower supplier named Shankar from Kolkata.Around 4 pm, Harsha, along with another domestic help, Roushan, who worked in a flat above Agarwal's residence, allegedly tied up Renu and stabbed her to death with a knife and scissors. The duo then stole the gold jewellery she was wearing along with some cash from the cupboards. "The almirah was not opened. Prima facie, it appears they stole about four tola gold ornaments and up to Rs 1 lakh cash," said a police officer.

After committing the crime, the duo fled on a two-wheeler belonging to Roushan's employer, towards KPHB Colony. The incident came to light later in the evening when Renu's family members returned home.
Based on their alert, police rushed to the spot and verified the CCTV footage."We suspect the accused may have fled to Ranchi. Our teams have launched a manhunt to nab them," said a senior police officer. The Clues team collected fingerprints from the crime scene. The victim's body was sent for postmortem. A case was registered under sections 103 (1) (murder) of the BNS.From the CCTV footage, police found both the suspects using lift to get down and escape from the apartment premises at 5.02 pm. Their exit was captured on various CCTV footages in the apartment.The incident sparked panic among the residents of apartment complex. Deputy commissioner of police (Balanagar) K Suresh visited the crime spot.
