Piyush Goyal Reveals India-US Trade Talks Deadline After PM Modi, Donald Trump's Twitter Exchange

The India-US relationship is at a turning point. Piyush Goyal has hinted that both nations are working toward finalising the first phase of a trade deal by November 2025, following direct instructions from PM Modi and President Trump. This revelation comes after Modi’s warm response to Trump’s post on trade, describing India and the US as “close friends and natural partners.” Trump, despite earlier imposing steep tariffs on Indian goods, reposted Modi’s reply, signalling a possible thaw in relations. Negotiations have been ongoing since March, and Goyal insists progress has been steady and satisfactory. But with tariff tensions still unresolved, the world is watching closely: can the two leaders turn rivalry into renewal and strike a deal that resets India-US trade for a new era?
