Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov has condemned Israel’s September 9 strikes on Doha as a blatant violation of international law and a threat to Middle East stability. Meeting Qatari minister Sultan bin Saad Al Muraikhi in Sochi, Lavrov declared the attack an assault on sovereignty and called for global condemnation. Qatar’s leaders, meanwhile, vowed retaliation against Israel, warning of consequences for hostages in Gaza and announcing an emergency Arab-Islamic summit in Doha.
