Fires at paint godown, phone repair shops

Kolkata: Two fires were reported on Tuesday, one on the city's fringes and another in central Kolkata.Panic gripped Ramchandrapur in Narendrapur around 8 am when a fire broke out at a paint godown. A large stock of paints and chemicals led to the blaze intensifying and residents were moved to safer locations. Six fire tenders were deployed. No one was injured.Another fire was reported at 5 pm from a Madan Street building housing mobile repair shops. Six shops were damaged. Three fire tenders were deployed. tnn
