Antonio Felix da Costa moved from Porsche to Jaguar TCS Racing this season and has already secured two consecutive wins, along with a podium finish in Monaco. However, the driver feels his results could have been even better had he not been involved in so many incidents during races. He admitted it has been difficult to control his emotions during such moments. Da Costa was caught up in crashes on both days of the Monaco double-header.

Antonio Felix da Costa relieved not to give up after Monaco incidents

Antonio Felix da Costa was involved in a collision caused by Dan Ticktum on Day 1, before being spun around by Edoardo Mortara on Day 2 of the Monaco E-Prix.Speaking to RacingNews365, Da Costa said, “I think I've said already, I just can't believe what's happening to me this year. I'm a big believer that these things are thrown at me, or at us, to build character, and I've been going through either very amazing emotions or very sad ones. The last couple of weeks have been tricky.”
Despite the setbacks, he was pleased to recover and secure third place in Round 10 in Monaco after the clash with Mortara. “When that happened [with Dan Ticktum], I thought, ‘Why this again?’ But I really believe God has a plan for everything that is thrown at us.
So yeah, I'm happy to have made the comeback stick, and I think it just shows that we should never, ever give up,” he added.Discussing how he has been managing his emotions after such incidents, Da Costa said, “Difficult. But I think I'm surrounded by amazing people and, you know, it's me and this team - we're getting to know each other very well, and we'll work well together moving forward. They'll help me manage my emotions and my goals, and we'll continue to work well together.”

Antonio Felix da Costa on Edoardo Mortara’s apology

Antonio Felix da Costa and Edoardo Mortara quickly made peace after Mortara messaged him and apologised while the Jaguar TCS Racing driver was in the middle of an interview.Responding to the apology during an interview with FormulaE.com, Da Costa said, “If you say sorry, it’s all fine. We all make mistakes. When people apologise, I have no problem. I just want people to apologise. Everybody makes mistakes.”After 10 races, Da Costa sits sixth in the Formula E Drivers’ Championship standings with 80 points. The next round of the championship will take place in Sanya, China, on 20 June. Also read: Dan Ticktum denies blame for Monaco E-Prix clash with Antonio Felix da Costa, calls his message “immature”
