Sexual harassment case: Director Ranjith seeks relaxation in bail conditions

Kochi: Director Ranjith sought a relaxation in bail conditions in a sexual harassment case registered against him. He filed a petition in the Ernakulam first class judicial magistrate court, requesting permission to leave Ernakulam district. According to sources, Ranjith cited health issues in his plea. The court asked the police for a response regarding the relaxation. Ranjith was arrested on March 31 following a sexual harassment complaint by an actress, related to an incident that allegedly took place on Jan 30. The complainant alleged that she faced inappropriate behaviour in a caravan on a movie set. Ranjith was granted bail with strict conditions by the Ernakulam magistrate court. He claimed the accusations were false.Bail conditions included appearing before the investigating officer every Monday for three months, not leaving Ernakulam district, surrendering his passport, avoiding visiting the location of the incident, and appearing before the investigating officer if required.
