Kochi: CPM made huge profits through fraud and deception under the guise of Global Ayyappa Sangamam and used the situation politically across Kerala with posters, but they were washing their hands of the fraud, Opposition leader V D Satheesan said.
"The devaswom minister claims he does not know who took the money from the Ayyappa conclave. The govt was at the forefront of organizing the meeting. If the govt wasn't involved, why were there hoardings with the chief minister's picture all over Kerala? Is there no connection between the devaswom board and the govt?" Satheesan asked.

"Three CPM leaders are in jail for Sabarimala gold heist," Satheesan said. The CPM appointed A Padmakumar, N Vasu and P S Prasanth to Travancore Devaswom Board. Those outside the devaswom board could not have smuggled the gold. The CPM is trying to find someone to blame now because they got caught. "If you search for Unnikrishnan Potti's picture, you will find it alongside
Pinarayi Vijayan," Satheesan said.
