Kanpur: Two brothers died late Friday after an unidentified speeding vehicle hit their motorcycle on the Bhikhepur-Juhikha road near Iqbalpur in Auraiya, causing them to fall into a culvert.The injured remained in the culvert overnight. On Saturday morning, passersby spotted them and informed the police. They were rushed to CHC Ayana, where doctors declared the younger brother dead. The elder brother was referred to Chicholi Medical College, but died on the way.The deceased were identified as Abhishek, 23, and Vikas, 17. Abhishek worked in a private firm in Gujarat and had come home to attend the wedding of his colleague’s sister. On Friday night, the victims were travelling to Bhikhepur to attend the wedding when the accident took place.Ayana police station in-charge Jaiprakash Pal said that both bodies have been sent for post-mortem. He said that an FIR would be registered against the driver after identifying the vehicle with the help of CCTV footage.
