Indore: Panic spread in Dobada village of Malhargarh tehsil in Mandsaur district on Monday night after around seven-feet-long crocodile was spotted wandering through village streets.
Villagers immediately alerted the authorities following which a rescue team from forest department arrived at the scene. Led by in-charge Pushkar Malviya, the forest team captured the crocodile after significant effort.
Following the rescue, the reptile was transported to Chambal backwaters. In the early hours of Tuesday, it was safely released into the Sanjeet river. Officials confirmed that the crocodile did not harm any villagers or livestock.
Mandsaur DFO Sanjay Raykhere urged citizens to remain calm if wildlife entered residential zones. He advised residents to avoid taking personal risks and contact the forest department immediately to ensure a safe and professional rescue operation
