NEW DELHI: For lakhs of students across the country, Tuesday turned into a day of endless waiting, rising anxiety and constant refreshing of result pages as the Central Board of Secondary Education (
CBSE) did not announce the Class XII board examination results despite “coming soon” messages on
DigiLocker and the
Umang app since Monday.
From early morning, students, parents and teachers flooded social media platforms and group chats with questions, memes, frustration and appeals to the board to at least confirm an exact date and time for the declaration of results. TOI reached out to several CBSE officials, including those who control the conduct of exams, over the past few days to seek clarity on the timeline for the declaration of results, but repeated queries went unanswered.
While DigiLocker and UMANG indicated the results would be available “soon”, there was no official announcement from CBSE through the day. The official website, too, showed no fresh update.
The prolonged uncertainty left many students distressed, especially those simultaneously preparing for entrance examinations and college admissions.
“It’s not even the result anymore, it’s the suspense,” wrote one student on a social media platform, asking CBSE to release a confirmed date instead of vague updates.
Another student said the repeated “coming soon” notifications were only increasing stress levels among candidates already dealing with competitive exams and admission deadlines.
As anxiety over the results mounted, students continued posting online throughout the day, turning social media into a stream of jokes, sarcasm and emotional reactions. Many said they were constantly refreshing DigiLocker, UMANG and the CBSE website, hoping for an official update. Several aspirants questioned the lack of clarity over the results date, while others shared memes and posts reflecting the growing stress and anticipation.
“I am awaiting the CBSE Class XII results as anxiously as if I have just completed my board exams. Congratulations CBSE for making it so engaging!” one user posted sarcastically.
Some students pointed to the toll it was taking on their mental health. “CBSE, why are you doing this? Don’t you care about your students? Why can’t you announce a clear date for the Class 12 results?” wrote one student.
Many also pointed to the confusion created after DigiLocker and the UMANG app began displaying a “coming soon” message for the results on Monday. “It’s now 4pm and the results are still not declared. Every time I search online, there are thousands of websites speculating an immediate announcement,” a student wrote.
The Class XII board examinations were conducted between Feb 17 and April 10. This year, the evaluation process was carried out under the on-screen marking system for the first time. Last year, the Class XII results were declared on May 13 shortly after similar “coming soon” notifications appeared on DigiLocker and UMANG.
