Sombre Saifai mourns Prateek Yadav’s untimely demise

Kanpur: A mournful atmosphere prevailed in Saifai, the ancestral village of the Yadav family, after the passing of his son, Prateek Yadav on Wednesday.Expressing shock over his death, the villagers described Prateek as a calm individual who always participated in family events. They said that he would mingle and talk freely with the local people.They noted that although he was the stepbrother of SP chief Akhilesh Yadav, both shared mutual respect.Outside Akhilesh Yadav’s residence in Saifai, Gram Pradhan Ramfal Balmiki became emotional while remembering Prateek Yadav.He said that he had seen and nurtured Prateek Yadav, a man who always participated in the joys and sorrows of the family and village people. He was present at family and social events held in Saifai, which had built a close and affectionate bond with the people.Santosh Shakya, Saifai block head, said that during Prateek’s wedding preparations on Dec 4, in 2011, Prateek Yadav himself came to the pandal late at night to oversee the arrangements.Mainpuri MLA, Tej Pratap Singh Yadav expressed profound grief over Prateek’s untimely death, hoping that God would grant strength to his wife and children to bear the loss.
