Ahead of Class X second exam, CBSE cautions students against spreading rumours

New Delhi: With the release of admit cards, students are now one step closer to appearing for the second edition of the CBSE Class X board exams. For smooth implementation, the Board has released a set of guidelines.Over six lakh students are expected to participate in the second phase of the exam, admit cards of which have been released on the official CBSE website. Schools can now access and download hall tickets for their students, while private candidates can also obtain their admit cards online. The exam will begin on May 15 and will be conducted in a single shift from 10.30am to 1.30pm.The board has urged students to maintain discipline, avoid spreading rumours or sharing exam-related content on social media, and verify all details on their admit cards in advance.The two-Board system has been designed to reduce pressure on students and give them another chance to improve their scores if they are unhappy with their performance in the first (main) exam, as per officials.A large number of students have registered under different categories. Thousands are appearing for compartment exams, many are taking improvement exams to raise their marks, while several candidates fall under both categories. “The introduction of this new system has been welcomed by students and parents alike, as it offers greater flexibility and reduces the fear of losing an academic year due to poor performance in one attempt,” said an official.The board has released several guidelines, with candidates being instructed to reach their exam centres before 10am, as late entry will not be permitted. Students are required to wear their school uniform, and carry both their school identity card and CBSE-issued admit card to the exam hall. The board has also prohibited electronic gadgets such as mobile phones, smart watches, and other digital devices inside the centre. Only basic stationery items will be allowed.The official added, “The board has urged schools, students, and parents to cooperate fully so that the examinations can be conducted in a fair and transparent manner. ”.
