COIMBATORE: K A Sengottaiyan, the chief coordinator of Vijay’s Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) high-level steering committee, on Tuesday termed the party’s victory in the Tamil Nadu assembly election as a historic milestone in Indian politics. He said TVK had secured a massive victory in its debut election without distributing cash to the voters.Speaking to reporters at Coimbatore International Airport, Sengottaiyan attributed the party’s success to the immense love and support shown by the people of Tamil Nadu to TVK leader Vijay. He said the foundation of any growing movement lies in sacrifice.

Sengottaiyan said divine will and people’s power would make Vijay the chief minister of Tamil Nadu.“When an individual becomes consumed by ego, the divine intervenes to show who is truly in control. Nothing is impossible through divine will, and it is by that divine grace that Vijay is set to occupy the seat of power. This has now transformed into a massive people’s movement,” he said.Drawing a comparison with established political giants, Sengottaiyan said parties built on the sacrifices of leaders such as Anna, MGR and Jayalalithaa were faltering. “A new era has begun,” he added.
