Rahul Gandhi has cautioned Congress leaders against celebrating the Trinamool Congress’s defeat in West Bengal, calling such reactions “petty politics.” In a post, he termed the BJP’s victory in Bengal and Assam a “theft of mandate” and warned it signals a threat to Indian democracy. The BJP secured over 200 seats, ending TMC’s 15-year rule and sweeping several districts. Gandhi stressed that the moment calls for unity among opposition parties rather than political point-scoring, urging leaders to focus on the broader implications for democracy and governance in India.
