SGPC outlines progs for Ravidas anniv

Amritsar: The Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee on Saturday held a meeting to finalise programmes for the 650th birth anniversary of Bhagat Ravidas, to be observed on Feb 20, 2027.According to an SGPC release, discussions were held on organising religious events, seminars, kirtan darbars and a nagar kirtan from the birthplace of Bhagat Ravidas as part of the commemorative celebrations.Later talking to media, SGPC president Harjinder Singh Dhami said it had been decided to organise six seminars dedicated to the life, philosophy, and Gurbani of Bhagat Ravidas, along with eight kirtan darbars at different places.He added that a special nagar kirtan will be taken out from the birthplace of Bhagat Ravidas at Govardhanpur (Varanasi), which will travel through various states before reaching Punjab.
