Haryana launches online leave management system for NHM employees
Chandigarh: Haryana health minister Arti Singh Rao on Tuesday launched a comprehensive online leave management system by the National Health Mission (NHM), Haryana. This initiative will help employees overcome difficulties faced while applying for leave. However, the health and paramedical workers are sceptical about this new system. Notably, the system was introduced after the health department came out with the geo-fencing system for attendance. During an event on Tuesday, the minister informed that the new system has been developed with the objective of simplifying and bringing transparency to the leave application process for various categories of NHM employees. "NHM Haryana is committed to building a modern human resource management system that simplifies workflows, reduces administrative burden, and ensures timely approvals," she said. An NHM spokesperson stated that through this portal, employees can now apply online for casual leave, extraordinary leave and maternity leave. They can also request a No Objection Certificate (NOC) for foreign travel. The portal provides a simple and user-friendly interface for selecting ‘From Date' and ‘To Date', ensuring clarity and accuracy in applications.
In cases of extraordinary leave, employees will be required to upload necessary documents so that the competent authority can conduct a thorough assessment and take an appropriate decision. After submission, SMS notifications will be sent to the concerned reporting, reviewing and approving authorities. Additionally, employees will also receive SMS alerts once their leave is approved or rejected. The spokesperson further added that this portal will reduce manual file work, enhance transparency, expedite processes and strengthen accountability in human resource management. With a streamlined system, leave applications will be processed without unnecessary delays, leading to improved employee satisfaction and administrative efficiency. In the coming days, the system will be further strengthened by adding features such as medical leave, restricted holiday, paternity leave and miscarriage leave, making it a comprehensive digital solution. "There is no issue in introducing the new things. But, as per trends, the portal systems are more supervisor-specific than facilitators for ground and actual staff. We have doubts about this system, especially when you want to avail leave in emergency," said a senior nursing officer posted in Panchkula.MSID: 130828278 413 |
