Deepender alleges corruption in Haryana civic bodies, campaigns in Ambala
Ambala: Congress MP Deepender Singh Hooda on Wednesday accused the BJP-led Haryana government of "patronising corruption" in municipal bodies, alleging that multiple scams had gone unchecked.Campaigning for Congress mayoral candidate and ward nominees, Hooda said no investigations were initiated despite repeated allegations. He also questioned the funding of "five-star hotel-like offices" built by the BJP, calling it an example of "triple-engine corruption".Highlighting civic issues, he said cities under BJP rule were facing poor roads, clogged sewers, sanitation problems and lack of basic services. He alleged that corruption had become entrenched, making routine work difficult without bribes.Hooda cited alleged scams, including a ₹200 crore road scam in Faridabad, a ₹160 crore bank scam in Panchkula and a ₹300 crore AMRUT scheme scam in Rohtak, claiming none were properly probed.He also accused the government of failing to fulfil key promises, including financial support for women, higher pensions, MSP hikes and housing for SC and BC communities, and flagged rising inflation.Several Congress leaders, including MPs Varun Chaudhary and Karamvir Baudh, MLAs Nirmal Singh and Ramkaran Kala, and AICC secretary Praful Gudde, were present during the campaign.
