Brace for rain, thunderstorm again on May 11, 12: Weather dept

Times News NetworkChandigarh: The city is likely to experience thunderstorm, lightning, gusty winds and rain over the next few days, said the India Meteorological Department (IMD). The weather department has forecast partly cloudy skies with rain on May 11 and May 12, bringing possible relief from the hot spell.According to the weather bulletin, Chandigarh recorded maximum temperature of 35.1 degrees Celsius, three degrees below normal. Minimum temperature in the city settled at 21.6 degrees Celsius, also three degrees below normal for this time of the year. The weather office said the city can expect to cool off on May 11 and May 12. However, weather department officials advised residents to remain cautious during thunderstorm and avoid unnecessary outdoor movement during strong winds or lightning.The five-day forecast issued by the IMD indicates that Chandigarh's maximum temperature is likely to remain around 36 degrees Celsius from May 10 to May 12. A slight dip is expected on May 13, when day temperature may settle around 35 degrees Celsius. The temperature may rise again to nearly 37 degrees Celsius on May 14. Night temperature is expected to remain between 22 degrees Celsius and 25 degrees Celsius over the next few days.MSID:: 130978602 413 |
