In 2 nights, more than 22 CCTV cameras stolen in Bhadrak

Over two nights, more than 22 CCTV cameras were stolen across Bhadrak town and nearby areas, causing concern among shopkeepers. Unidentified individuals were seen using a black battery-operated vehicle during the thefts, targeting locations including the Bhadrak SP Office area.

Balasore: More than 22 CCTV cameras were stolen on the nights of Monday and Tuesday, leaving shopkeepers across Bhadrak town and nearby areas shocked and concerned about their security.Reports claimed unidentified miscreants were seen moving around town on a black battery-operated vehicle late in the night. CCTV footage showed two youths — one waiting in the vehicle while the other, his face covered with a cloth, dismantling cameras from shops.The thefts occurred at multiple locations, including Bhadrak SP Office area, Naripur, Bonth Chowk and Aradi Chowk. Following the thefts, complaints were lodged at both Bhadrak Town and Rural Police stations.Police have launched an investigation and are reviewing CCTV footage from surrounding areas. Shopkeepers fear the thefts could be part of a bigger plan to carry out burglaries in the future.Bhadrak additional SP Arup Abhishek Behera said, “After receiving complaints, we have launched an investigation into the matter. We are closely examining all CCTV footage and taking the matter very seriously.”
