Minor boy detained on charge of raping girl in Patna

Patna: A 15-year-old boy was detained in Patna on Tuesday evening for allegedly raping a nine-year-old girl after luring her with chocolate. The minor was sent to a juvenile home.The crime took place on Sept 5, after the accused lured the girl to a deserted house. The girl returned home and narrated the ordeal to her parents who informed police.Based on her account, police recovered suspicious items, including a can of oil, from the crime scene, which is under forensic examination. The accused, who was staying at his maternal grandmother’s house in the same locality as the girl, fled after the incident before being caught in Patna on the basis of a tip-off.City superintendent of police (east) Parichay Kumar said an application in this regard was received on Sept 5 at 9.20pm. “The applicant reported that his nine-year-old daughter was raped by a boy living in the same neighbourhood. Upon receiving the application, an FIR was filed, and the girl’s medical examination was conducted. The FSL team also inspected the crime scene as described by the girl. The accused was identified, and it was found that he was absconding since the incident. Evidence was collected, and the accused was finally caught,” he said, while addressing reporters on WednesdayHe added that legal proceedings have been initiated against him.
