Jharkhand Armed Police Constable Dies from Accidental Gunshot While Cleaning Rifle
Jamshedpur: A Jharkhand Armed Police (JAP) constable died when a bullet was accidentally fired from his self-loading rifle (SLR) while he was cleaning it and hit him in the head. The incident occured at a barrack near Gua police station in West Singhbhum on Tuesday evening, police said.Jagannathpur SDPO Rafail Murmu said, “Constable Bargi Oraon (52) was taken to the Chakradharpur Sadar Hospital, where he died during treatment.”“Khutpani circle officer (CO) Phuleswar Sao, who was deputed as magistrate at the hospital, supervised the on-camera autopsy of the deceased constable. Post-mortem examination report will determine the angle from which the buller was accidentally shot and which organ suffered damage,” he added.The mortal remains of the police man was sent to his native village in Gumla district for last rites, police said.
