Ganja smuggler arrested in Rourkela, 2 others flee
Rourkela: Sector-19 police arrested a man from Brajrajangar of Jharsuguda district on Thursday for alleged possession of ganja and its illegal transportation.Around 8 pm on Dec 31, sub-inspector R Behera of Sector-19 police station, was patrolling along with his colleagues, when they caught smuggling of NDPS on Bank Street near the L&T office. The accused, identified as Bikash Satnami, and his accomplices, Jagan Tanty, Gochi Singh and others from Mandalia, Brajrajnagar, were caught transporting 9.8 kg ganja in a white vehicle. While the police team nabbed Bikash Satnami, the other accused managed in the cover of darkness. Police seized two numbers of mobile phone and cash from the prime accused, Bikash Satnami.

Police team took accused Satnami to the police station and interrogated him. Besides ganja, two mobile phones, Rs 500 in cash and a vehicle were sized from him.Further investigations are on. Cops are trying to track the other absconding accused.
