BHOPAL: A 22-year-old man was stabbed to death in Vidisha on Saturday night after he objected to a group of youths who were allegedly harassing a young woman. The incident was captured on CCTV footage, police said. The victim, Nandhu alias Shubham Choubey, 22, was attacked in Indraprastha Colony around 8 pm. Locals took him to a hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries during treatment. Shubham worked as an air-conditioner repairman.

According to the police, Shubham had earlier confronted Chunni, a resident of Karaiya Kheda Road, and Chunni's associates, accusing them of harassing a young woman. The matter was not reported to the police at that time. On Saturday evening, Chunni and his associates allegedly arrived at Indraprastha Colony on a motorcycle, called Shubham out of his house, and stabbed him before fleeing the scene. Police said several people were present in the neighbourhood during the attack, but no one intervened. The seriously injured Shubham was later taken to the hospital by residents. After receiving information, police reached the spot and began an investigation.
CCTV footage has since surfaced, showing the accused and their associates assaulting Shubham. By the time police reached the hospital, Shubham had died. The accused are being identified based on the CCTV footage. A case of murder has been registered, and multiple teams have been formed to arrest those involved. Police said further action will be taken as the investigation progresses.
