And with the change in time, now bread comes in many varieties, fit for diabetic, gluten intolerant, vegan and more. But, have you ever imagined bread as the hero of your meal beyond sandwiches? If not, then take a look at these bread dishes beyond sandwiches and rolls, and the best thing is, they all are easy to make.

This is a version of classic South Indian upma, and to make it, simply cut bread slices into cubes and add them to a tempering of curry leaves, mustard seeds, peanuts, and cook along with onions, capsicum, salt, turmeric, and pepper.

As the name suggests, it's a dessert made with crumbled bread chunks, sauteed in ghee and then simmered in sugar, milk, and topped with cardamom powder and nuts. It's a creamy delight that is loved by people of all age groups.
