Bhopal: Chief minister Mohan Yadav on Tuesday informed the council of ministers that the BRICS Agriculture Ministers’ Conference will be hosted by the state in Indore from June 9 to 13. Briefing the media after the cabinet meeting, minister for MSME Chaitanya Kashyap said, “The chief minister described it as a matter of pride that such a significant international event is being organised in Madhya Pradesh.”
Yadav argued that the BRICS grouping, comprising major emerging economies, is being further strengthened under the leadership of Prime Minister
Narendra Modi. “The objective of BRICS is to enhance economic cooperation, trade, and geopolitical dialogue among member nations. Ministers from 21 countries including Brazil, Russia, India, China, South Africa, Uganda, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Malaysia, Nigeria, Thailand, the United Arab Emirates, Colombia and Indonesia, will participate,” Kashyap said.
Senior agricultural scientists and policymakers will also attend the conference. The chief minister told the cabinet that the five-day conference will be organised with full dignity and grandeur.
