Bhopal: In a bid to strengthen healthcare and protect communities from seasonal health risks, AIIMS Bhopal organised a health camp and awareness programme on the theme ‘Beat the Heat’, according to a press release here on Sunday.The programme was conducted by AIIMS Bhopal department of community and family medicine, Dr Kuldeep Gupta and Dr Himani Raj from the along with dietitians Nidhi Vaidhya and Sachi Sonkar who focused on nutrition and lifestyle practices.During the camp, on the outskirts of the state capital, residents were educated about the dangers of heat-related illnesses and the simple precautions that can save lives. Doctors emphasised the importance of drinking sufficient water, avoiding direct sunlight during peak hours, and wearing light, loose-fitting clothes. They also explained how to recognize early signs of heat exhaustion and heat stroke, ensuring local residents could act quickly in emergencies.Beyond immediate preventive measures, the programme offered practical advice on first aid, balanced nutrition, and adopting healthier daily routines. The people responded enthusiastically, engaging with the medical team and appreciating the accessible, easy-to-follow guidance.
This initiative reflects AIIMS Bhopal’s ongoing commitment to community health and preventive medicine. By addressing challenges posed by extreme summer conditions, the institute continues to empower local populations with knowledge and resources that promote resilience and wellbeing, said an official.
