UPESSC lecturer exam conducted smoothly under AI monitoring

Prayagraj: The written examination for the lecturer grade conducted by the Uttar Pradesh Education Service Selection Commission (UPESSC) was held smoothly in a transparent and copy-free manner across the state on Saturday, officials said.

The examination, scheduled over two days with the second round on May 10, is being conducted for 18 subjects. Of these, nine subjects were covered in two shifts on the first day.

The exam was organised across 17 divisional headquarters in UP at 278 centres in the first shift and 269 centres in the second shift.

In the first shift, held from 9.30am to 11.30am, candidates appeared for physics, biology, home science, history and education. In the second shift, conducted from 2.30pm to 4.30pm, examinations were held for English, agriculture, commerce and sociology.

A total of 89,766 candidates appeared in the examination across the state. The attendance of female candidates was recorded at 34.89%, while male candidates’ participation stood at 42.26%.

To ensure complete transparency, the commission implemented an AI-based monitoring system. An AI-integrated control command room was set up at the commission headquarters, from where all centres were continuously monitored in real time. AI-enabled surveillance cameras installed at centres were used to keep strict watch on candidates’ activities throughout the examination process.

UPESSC chairman Prashant Kumar acknowledged the active cooperation of district administrations and local authorities, whose coordination helped ensure smooth arrangements at all examination centres. Adequate security, monitoring and administrative support were provided to maintain order during the examination process.
