Legal luminary discusses advocacy ethics
Prayagraj: Dr Rajendra Prasad National Law University organised the third edition of its interactive series “In Conversation with a Legal Luminary” at the university campus on Friday, featuring Additional Advocate General of Uttar Pradesh, Rahul Agarwal, as the keynote speaker. The session was moderated by Vice-Chancellor Prof Usha Tandon.Welcoming the guest, the VC highlighted Agarwal’s academic and professional achievements, including his education at the National Law School of India University and Harvard Law School, along with his legal practice before the Allahabad High Court.During the interaction, Agarwal spoke on ethics in advocacy, legal education, and the growing role of technology in the legal profession. Stressing the importance of perseverance and discipline, he said success in law depends on consistent effort and credibility rather than background or privilege. Sharing his experiences, he advised students to remain patient and resilient during the early years of practice.Speaking on Artificial Intelligence, he acknowledged its usefulness in legal research but cautioned students against overdependence on AI tools, urging them to strengthen analytical thinking and reading habits.
