Agra: A local court in Mathura has sentenced two men to life imprisonment for murdering a 45-year-old farmer over a dispute involving Rs 200, and dumping his body by the roadside.Additional district and sessions judge Ram Kishore Pandey convicted Rinku Singh and Dayashankar Singh on Tuesday and imposed a fine of Rs 10,000 on each. In the event of non-payment, they will face an additional six months’ imprisonment, the court said.ADGC Raju Singh said the victim, Kumesh Chand Sharma, a resident of the Mant police station area, left home on Oct 21, 2019, saying he was going towards Bichpuri Road in Raya. “He was later seen near a shop in the area that evening, but did not return home.”When his family failed to contact him, his brother Ajit Kumar approached Raya police station the next day, only to learn that Kumesh had been murdered and his body recovered from the roadside.Police registered a case under IPC sections 302 (murder) and 120B (criminal conspiracy). During interrogation after their arrest, Rinku allegedly told police that Kumesh had slapped him for refusing to return Rs 200 he had borrowed. Enraged, he and Dayashankar allegedly killed Kumesh and dumped the body.
