Tesla Cybertruck’s unusual charging port goes viral: Squared-off steering wheel looks wacky
American EV manufacturer, Tesla, has begun the production of its much awaited Cybertruck model and with each passing day more details about the electric pick-up are finding their way onto the internet. Among the latest leaks, is an image that shows the charging port of the Cybertruck, which is unusual and quirky just like the electric off-roader. The image was shared on Twitter by @RyanZohoury and here is what it looks like.
As we can see in the image, instead of the charging port being integrated into the rear fender, front fender or at the front of the vehicle, the Cybertruck gets its charging port integrated into its rear left wheel arch, that gets a reinforced plastic cladding. Having the charger integrated into the side cladding goes well with the Cybertruck’s futuristic brushed steel body panels that are designed to be seamless.

These are not the first images of the Cybertruck which have leaked and gone viral in recent times. Earlier in May 2023, interior images of the upcoming electric pick-up were leaked onto an owners community group called cybertrucksowners.com. In the images we could clearly see that the Cybertruck will get a minimal and squared off steering wheel unit with multifunction buttons that also integrate the indicator control.
The minimal design language continues with the absence of a digital instrument cluster and instead it gets a large high-resolution display which is located in the centre and will presumably provide a host of information for both driver and infotainment.
Other details revealed in the leaked image show a high mounted armrest with storage provisions and a flat floor area with extra storage below the central display screen, it also gets a fully-digital rear view unit. As of now, we know that the Cybertruck will offer a range of up to 800 km. Being a pick-up truck, it would also boast of a payload capacity of 1,500 kg and in terms of acceleration it would do a 0-100 kmph run in just 6.5 seconds. The Cybertruck is also expected to get an air-suspension setup in the production version.
