Votes are being counted across four states, Assam, Tamil Nadu, West Bengal, and Kerala, with leads shifting as rounds progress. In Assam, where 64 seats are needed for a majority in the 126-seat assembly, NDA holds a tally of 97, having won 28 and leading in 69 more, crossing the majority mark on current trends. The Congress-led combine has a tally of 22, all leads, while candidates from other parties and independents cumulatively account for a tally of 7. In Tamil Nadu, the majority mark stands at 118 across 234 seats. SPA has won 7 and is leading in 53 for a tally of 60, while NDA is leading in 55 with no seats decided yet, giving it a tally of 55. Candidates from other parties and independents cumulatively lead in a tally of 115, still 3 short of the majority mark. In West Bengal, BJP leads the 294-seat contest with a tally of 179, having won 11 and leading in 168, crossing the majority threshold of 148 on current trends. TMC has won 2 and is leading in 104 for a tally of 106, trailing by a significant margin. Candidates from other parties and independents cumulatively hold a tally of 8 in the state. In Kerala, UDF tops the 140-seat assembly count with 68 seats won and leads in 19 more, giving it a tally of 87, well past the majority mark of 71 on current trends. LDF has won 30 and is leading in 6 for a tally of 36. Candidates from other parties and independents cumulatively hold a tally of 17 in Kerala.
