NDA, BJP, UDF lead as counting progresses across four states
Votes are being counted across four state assemblies, with leads shifting as rounds progress. In Assam, where 64 seats are needed for a majority in the 126-seat house, NDA holds a tally of 97, having won 28 and leading in 69 more, crossing the majority mark on current trends. The Congress-led grouping is trailing with a tally of 22, all leads and no wins declared yet. Candidates from other parties and independents cumulatively hold a tally of 7 in Assam. In Tamil Nadu, the majority mark stands at 118 across 234 seats. SPA has a tally of 60, with 7 seats won and 53 leads, while NDA trails with a tally of 55 and no wins declared. West Bengal, with a majority mark of 148 in a 294-seat assembly, sees BJP leading in enough seats to cross the mark if those leads hold, carrying a tally of 179 from 11 wins and 168 leads.
