The report was filed the day after the Bank's senior branch manager, Om prakash saini, committed suicide in his Noida Home, on December 16. Saini had feared being implicated in the fraud. The two directors had been accused of cheating the bank of Rs 5.89 lakh, on the basis of fake papers. According to Sector 20 police station chief, YP Singh, the company's account in the bank was operated solely by Chaukhani. And Rana had, as early as November 6, complained in writing to the Delhi police commissioner that Chaukhani had cheated him and several others. He had also demanded Chaukhani's arrest to prevent others from being cheated. Chaukhani is currently untraceable.
