The wife of a deputy inspector general of police, at present posted at Police Training School, Unnao, found hanging at her Sushant Golf City residence on Saturday. The post mortem revealed the cause of death as asphyxia due to hanging. Police claimed it to be a case of suicide.

Chandra Prakash Sharma, 56, was found murdered in an apartment in T Block in Gopal Nagar on Thursday morning. Panic ensued in the area after the body was recovered. The incident came to light when another guard arrived for duty. Chandra Prakash Sharma, originally from Hardoi, had been living in Rajesh Shukla's house in Naubasta since 1998. He used to work as a security guard for Dwivedi Security Agency in Gwaltoli. The police say that Sharma was killed by hitting him with a brick on his head. The investigation is ongoing, and the police are expected to zero in on the perpetrator soon.
