The police have lodged a case against the jeweller, Chandra Prakash, who first shot five of his family members and then shot himself on Wednesday.

LUCKNOW: The police have lodged a case against the jeweller, Chandra Prakash, who first shot five of his family members and then shot himself on Wednesday. Three persons including his two teenaged daughters and mother died on Wednesday, while his condition, along with that of his aunt is said to be critical. His wife, however, is said to be stable.
In an FIR lodged with the police, Chandra Prakash's brother stated that former was under depression for past few months because of a false case lodged against him in a land related matter in Mohanlalganj.

Other reason cited was that Chandra Prakash was also under stress because of his tenants who were not vacating his ancestral house in the city.
A resident of Bhawani Singh Shivalay road in Raja Bazaar, Chandra Prakash pumped bullets into his family members from his licensed revolver on Wednesday evening.
Chandra Prakash (45), has a jewellery store situated opposite Chowk Kotwali. Eldest among three brothers, Chandra Prakash and his younger brother Munna looked after the store. The youngest of the brothers - Jai Prakash - owns a photo studio.
Chandra Prakash was found in a pool of blood along with five other members of his family by Jai Prakash. They were rushed to the Trauma Centre. At the Trauma Centre, doctors attending them pronounced Chandra Prakash's mother, Kasturi (67) and his two daughters, Jyoti(16) and Neha(14), dead upon arrival.
Talking to TOI, circle officer (CO) Chowk Vinay Chandra said that in the FIR it has been mentioned that Chandra Prakash took the step as he was under stress because of a case lodged against him. CO, however, said that nobody has been directly named in the FIR, be it SDM Mohanlalganj or Chandra Prakash's tenants.
The police have lodged the case against Chandra Prakash under sections 302, 307 and 309 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
