Guard found murdered in apartment

Kanpur: A 56-year-old security guard was found murdered in an apartment located in T Block in Govind Nagar police station area of the city on Thursday. Panic prevailed in the area after the body of the guard, identified as Chandra Prakash, was recovered from the apartment in the morning hours. The incident came to light when the other guard arrived for duty.
According to the police, Chandra Prakash Sharma, originally a resident of Hardoi, had been living in Rajesh Shukla’s house in Naubasta since 1998.He used to work in Dwivedi Security Agency of Gwaltoli.
“These days he was on night shift duty at an apartment in T Block in Govind Nagar. On late Wednesday night, some miscreant killed Chandra Prakash by hitting him several times with a brick on his head,” the police said.
DCP South Pramod Kumar, ADCP Ankita Sharma, ACP Babupurwa Santosh Kumar Singh and forensic team reached the spot to inspect it. “The investigations are underway. Soon the police will zero in on the perpetrator of the crime,” Kumar said. tnn
